Today I have the great pleasure to welcome Dr Poo Kuan Hoong. Dr. Poo works as Lead Data Scientist at BAT where he applies his combination of research and industrial experience in Big Data Analytics, Data Mining, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to provide innovative solutions to drive revenue growth.
With over 15 years of academic and research experience, Dr Poo is a passionate practitioner in the area of Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. A graduate of Nagoya Institute of Technology (Japan), Dr. Poo holds a Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Computer Science, a Master of Information Technology, University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and a Bachelor of Science, University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
Besides that, Dr Poo also serves as a mentor in the NASA International Space Apps Challenge, the founder of the Malaysia R User Group Malaysia (MyRUG) and TensorFlow and Deep Learning Malaysia Group. Dr. Poo also provides consultancy on data strategy for companies in various sectors including finance. telecommunication and technology startups.
